The Royal Romance *Pt. 1*

Hey Guys,

UGGHHH I had such a long day today, and it all started when we landed in Ellantia. It was a full 8 hour nighttime flight, and by the time we touched down it was early morning. After we went through the airport to baggage claim to find our stuff, our chauffeur was waiting to take us to our hotel to rest and freshen up to meet the King later that afternoon... and Prince Dominic... I was so nervous, I'm surprised I didn't get sick on the plane! As the chauffeur drove us through the countryside to the main town, we all got a chance to see the sights. For starters, Ellantia is BEAUTIFUL. There were rolling green hills everywhere, the buildings had an old-world charm to them, and the populous was a whole menagerie of creatures and people just like the Mushroom Kingdom. Peach was able to point out several Toads out of the crowds as we passed by. Our chauffeur was great too, he answered all of the questions when we asked about the country, it's culture, the royal family, and other things.

Eventually we arrived at the hotel that was close to the castle, a small but pleasant little building, and we were helped to our rooms, Peach and I in one and the Bros. next door. When we entered our rooms though, they both had welcome baskets of flowers on the tables. I recognized them as Stargazer Lillies(Thanks to Daisy!), which must have been native plants to Ellantia. Peach loved how thoughtful they were and the Bros. were impressed. While PomPom and I were admiring them, I noticed a little card that was pinned to the basket. When I opened and read it, I started to feel butterflies in my stomach. This was what it said:

"Dear Princess Corona,
I would like to personally welcome you and your company to Ellantia. I trust that your trip here was as comfortable as possible. If not, I hope that these welcome gifts would lift your spirits. Just to remind you, the first meeting with my Father and I is scheduled at 2:00 pm. This should give you enough time to recover from your flight and refresh yourselves. I am looking forward to meeting you very much, and I hope your stay in Ellantia is an enjoyable one.
Yours Truly, Prince Dominic"

Oh geez! The gifts were from him! Then Peach got a hold of the letter and read to the Bros. OUT LOUD so they could hear it. After she finished all three of them were giggling and snickering like a bunch of gossiping school girls. Really guys?! Soon we settled ourselves into the rooms for a little while to wait for the meeting. We all washed up, brushed up, we girls did make up, and before you knew it was almost time to head to the castle. But before we were getting ready to leave, I almost got cold feet and wanted to stay at the hotel. Mario and the others however rallied behind me and cheered me on to keep going, I love them so much! Once we got in the car again and drove off, there was NO turning back!

Another 15 heart-wrenching minutes later and we arrived at the castle proper. Let me tell you, the castle is super pretty. It's nice and clean with several towers with a simple layout. Before we pulled up though, I could already see the King and Prince Dominic waiting on the bridge over the moat, and I immediately felt nervous again. But Peach, who had been sitting next to me, grabbed my hand on my lap and squeezed it while whispering to me that everything was going to be alright. We finally pulled up to the bridge and the Bros. stepped stepped out of the car first to help us ladies out 'cuz, you know, etiquette. We walked up to the bridge and finally stood face to face with Prince Dominic and his father, whose name is King Richard BTW.

It was at this point where the day started to screw up. When the four of us were bowing/curtsying to King Richard and Prince Dominic, my mind slipped a little and almost leaned too far to fall over causing me to catch myself. I could feel my friends cringe behind me after I stood back up, FAIL! Luckily King Richard didn't seem to mind, if anything he was amused and welcomed us warmly. He then properly introduced Dominic and he welcomed us too... and then he took a couple steps toward me to speak to me personally. When he got closer, we started to make eye contact right away. Okay, so this is gonna sound super cheesy, but I think I really was starting to lose myself looking into his eyes... eeep! Then he suddenly started to speak and I had to quickly snap myself back into reality. This was pretty much what we said to each other:

   Dominic: "Hello."

   Me: "U-uh... H-hello..."

Dominic: "I'm glad to have finally met you!"

   Me: "U-um... M-me too."

*Dominic notices me fidgeting with my pendant*

Dominic: "Hey, it's alright if your nervous. I only imagine this being all so sudden for you."

   Me: *Surprised* "Oh... Really?"

   Dominic: "Of course."

*We start staring at each other again, and just as I was getting comfortable around him...*

   PomPom: ~PO-PO!

No, you read that right! Right as Dominic and I were starting to take off, PomPom pops out of my pendant seemingly out of nowhere and nearly flies into Dominic's face! Everyone was shocked at her sudden appearance, and at that moment I could feel my soul leave my body. I was SO embarrassed, my face started blushing so red I was almost tomato status! What I was more worried about though was Dominic, who nearly got a face full of Fluff Fairy! But he surprisingly took it in stride, in fact he was amused by her! A couple minutes later and I ripped PomPom from the air and scolded her on her behavior, she knows better! However Dominic told me not to worry about it and asked me all about PomPom for the next few minutes.

Once we finished our introductions(which took WAY longer than they should've!) King Richard invited us into the castle and gave us a tour. To keep things short we were simply shown a lot of different structures and family mementos and the various rooms. All along the way, whenever the King said or explained something, Dominic would turn to me and make a comment behind his back either to joke around or to explain the subject properly. I have to admit, some of the wisecracks were pretty funny and I did crack a smile at a few of them. I guess he was just trying to break the ice or help me loosen up. Speaking of loosen up, almost halfway through the tour Mario came up behind me and tapped me on the back, which almost made me yelp in fear. Then he came up and whispered behind me, "Hey Princess, relax a little. You're as stiff as a board!" GEE THANKS MARIO!! WASN'T LIKE I ALREADY KNEW THAT!!

So after a long day, our group was prepared to head back to the hotel. Before we left though, Dominic had invited us to breakfast at the castle in the morning. Peach accepted of course, so I really have no choice but to go. N-not that I don't want to or anything! So yeah, here I am in my bed trying to type this blog entry on my phone. It's getting pretty late for this one so I'll call it here. I need to be rested for tomorrow morning... for Dominic... UGH WHAT AM I EVEN SAYING ANYMORE?! Could I really be falling for him? Shoot, only time will tell, and we will be here the entire week! I'd better go to bed guys, blog ya soon!

- Dana ;)

Here's the picture of that first encounter when PomPom
