The Royal Romance *Pt. 4* (And 5)

Hey Guys!

   Yeah I know, I missed a day again. Hear me out though, what happened yesterday and today were crazy! So it started yesterday morning after breakfast, Dominic and I were walking down a hallway alone talking about various things. Eventually though I started to ask questions Cassandra, since I was curious about his and her relationship. As expected, Dominic didn't seem too excited to talk about her, but he did anyway to get it off his chest. Turns out that Cassandra and Dominic are 2nd cousins, and both of their parents were really close. Surprisingly they did have a healthy relationship when they were younger, but it was more child's play than anything. It wasn't until they got older and Cassandra started to develop romantic feelings for Dominic, and tried to pursue a romance with him. Dominic didn't reciprocate these feelings back, and only because Cassandra was considered family, and he was 100% against dating a relative, which is totally understandable. So instead he tried finding love elsewhere, and this was when he admitted that I wasn't the first girl he tried to date, but I brushed over it. Here's where it gets juicy, the reason why he's gone through so many relationships, is because Cassandra ruined ALL of them! Yeah! Every time Dominic was dating a girl, Cassandra would always try to sabotage the relationship and drive the girls away! So far she's done it through various means like blackmail, food poisoning, spreading lies, and even just straight up humiliating them in some shape or form. But the real reason why Dominic has angst with her is that he caught her in the act, and he's struggled to find her guilty with his father! So he's sworn that this time he refuses to let Cassandra near me and vows to keep me safe from whatever she could do to me. Aw man, I felt so bad! To put up with something like that for so many years, and not being able to get rid of it! After he explained all of this to me, I told him not to worry about me, because I've got something that those other girls may not have had: magic and a brain! But then Dominic was surprised at the fact I said magic and proceeded to ask a dozen and a half questions about my powers, which I gladly answered via a couple of displays and magic tricks. It was at that point I was getting a good idea on what kind of person Dominic is. He is a smart, kind, and understanding person who cares for his friends and family, but if he ever gets brushed the wrong way he's not above telling you what you did. By the end of the day, I regrouped with Peach and the Bros. and we drove back to the hotel, but one thing that I had realized while pulling away was this, Cassandra was nowhere to be found all day, even when we talked about her too. That got me suspicious on what she was up to, and on the next day I was about to find out why...

For Cassandra to be so reclusive that day, she had
to have been coming up with something nasty for me!

   Once again, the day took off at breakfast, and right away Dominic and I sensed Cassandra was starting to pull her strings. The first sign was when a butler had brought in muffins for part of the meal. Now at this point I already told the others about Cassandra and to be on their toes, so they were watching for any foul play too. Anyway the butler presented me with a muffin, and as good as it looked, I immediately whiffed a smell that seemed off about it. Being a lady I accepted the muffin, and immediately turned to Dominic and shook my head no, it was most likely laced with a poison to make me sick. So I left it on the table and didn't eat it, my first dodged bullet. Later that afternoon, we were in the garden pavilion enjoying our time together when a freaking SNAKE comes out of nowhere and almost attacked us! A SNAKE GUYS! With some quick reacting I used my magic to poof it into a stick, second trap foiled. Dominic pondered at that point that Cassandra was probably growing desperate and frustrated, and that I should be careful. I kept that in mind, and while Dominic went off with Peach and the Bros. for something, I decided to wander the castle. Before long I found myself in the portrait hall with these huge paintings of Dominic's family. Eventually I found the portrait of him that they used for the photograph! Ha! I observed some more and I soon found a painting of Cassandra on the wall. While I was looking at it though, I heard a voice echo in the hall saying, "So, you're still alive. I guess those traps weren't enough after all." It spooked me and I turned to see Cassandra herself leaning against the wall next to a rope. All I could say to her was, "Come up with as many excuses as you want! Dominic's told me everything about you! I know what you did to him and those poor girls!" Cassandra only sneered at me from behind her fan and said, "You're not as dumb as you look! No wonder Dominic wants to hold on to you! You're the only one so far that has more than half a brain cell to stay!" "Excuse me?!" I snapped back, "It's YOU who's brainless! You keep running after a guy that trying to get away from you! You're a threat to him and everyone he cares about!" "All of those poor souls who get in my way are mere obstacles on my path!" Cassandra huffed, "Nothing, not even you will keep me from my love! Dominic WILL be MINE!" And then I took a deep breath, stared her right in the eyes, and said this: "He will never love you... After all that you've done, he will NEVER forgive you!" It was at that moment when Cassandra finally snapped. She took her fan(that I found out was tipped with a blade edge BTW) and used it to slice the rope next to her clean through, and was prepared to drop a FREAKING CHANDELIER ON TOP OF ME!! She was gonna try and KILL ME!! I only had a split-second to react and managed to pull out my Shining Shield spell before it fell on me, but I blacked out for a second from the impact and fell to the floor. It was only mere seconds later that Dominic and the others stormed into the room with the King shouting, "SEIZE HER!" and guards quickly jumping a dumbfounded Cassandra and dragged her off kicking and screaming, "You'll pay for this! YOU'LL PAY!!!" Once Cassandra was gone, Mario and the others quickly helped me get the chandelier off my shield so I could turn it off, and immediately a delirious Princess Peach ran up and tackled me crying, "OH DANA!! Are you okay?! We heard a crash from another room and thought the worst!!" with tears streaming down her face. Mario and Luigi had to pry her off me like a Boa Constrictor! The both of them then checked that I was okay too and helped me to my knees. Then Dominic, the poor thing, he looked like he just watched his best friend get killed! He quickly got down to my level and checked every last inch of me it seemed to make sure I wasn't hurt. I had to keep telling him that I was fine and tried to calm him down. He apologized excessively and blurted out, "I'm so sorry Danielle! I knew I shouldn't have left you alone! But I had to when I needed to talk to your friends about... something important..." "Wait, what?" I said confused, and not because I was still dazed from the incident. Dominic then made a deep sigh, looked around at everyone, then back at me, and said, "Danielle, throughout this entire week, you've shown me a person that's one-in-a-million to find. Not only are you a kind, selfless Princess who is loved by everyone around you, you're a decorated hero, friend, and family." He pauses for a second. "I-I guess what I'm trying to say is... I don't want this to end just at this week. I want to be able to do more things with you, and spend time with you. Because-" He gulped nervously and grabbed my hands tightly and said, "B-Because... I-I love you..." Yeah guys, he said it! Right there in front of everyone! I sat there in shock at what he said to me, any of you that have been through this will know the feels. After a while though Mario knelt down and nudged me saying, "Well, are you gonna say something? You love him too don't you?" I only looked at him and back at Dominic, who was flushed red after his confession. I could feel tears welling up in my eyes(they're coming up again as I'm typing this!) and I smiled and gave a, "Uh-huh." as I reached out and hugged Dominic around the neck, while he hugged me around the waist. Everybody then cheered and cried around us and King Richard shouted, "HAHA! This calls for a celebration!" So for the rest of the day we all partied at the castle until late in the evening.

   So yeah guys, here I am back at the hotel with the others trying to let it all sink in... I actually have a boyfriend now... Holy cow I never thought I'd say that in a MILLION years! Mario and Luigi are both very happy for me, and they tell me that I will be very happy with Dominic. Of course Peach is drier than a leaky faucet right now, but she constantly tells me that the two of us make an adorable couple. I'm just so happy that all three of them are so supportive, and they told me why Dominic talked to them: he was asking for their approval to confess to me! That's so sweet! Well, I'd better get some rest, tonight is our last night in Ellantia before we go back to The Mushroom Kingdom tomorrow. Even though Ellantia is far away from home, there are plenty of Warp Pipes to keep us connected! I can tell you now that this relationship will never be dull! Blog ya soon guys!
