Happy Valentine's Day!!... Again!

Hey Guys!

It's that time of year again! Happy hearts and awesome candy, sweet! This year is so exciting because I not only have Dominic to celebrate with, I have my sister too! Like I promised, I'll go over more about Midnight and who she's like. But first I need to go over how awesome the week has already been! On Monday the gifts already started coming in, from the people of Isle Delfino! I got all sorts of tropical flowers, fruit baskets and thoughtful cards from so many folks! I'm clearly loved by my subjects, which just shows I'm doing my job right! Even with PomPom's big appetite it was almost overwhelming with all the stuff I got. I eventually decided to gather all the Palace servants together and we all just took the time to sample the treats, make decorations with the flowers and overall spent a lovely day with everyone.

On Tuesday I wanted to make a proper Valentine's Day card to send out to my friends, so I took Midnight to a photographer to get our picture taken! I was able get a couple of cute poses out of my usually reserved and mature sister, and I sent the photo to my blog editor to make the card! It came out so cute! I'll also put the card here for you guys, you're all my friends too you know! The whole rest of the day after the photo shoot the two of us got to spend some quality sister time together. She told me all about the journey she was on with Rosalina to distant galaxies and everything she saw. She's so lucky to get to do that! My sister is a calm, intelligent and collected person who acts very mature and dignified but humble and kind. A word that comes to mind when I think of when describing her is... queenly. I mean, she WAS an empress after all! I guess the attitude just stuck. Today though I got some more cute gifts from my squad back in The Mushroom Kingdom: Peach and Daisy gave an adorable cupcake they baked, and the Bros. sent me another single rose in a vase with the note like they did last year. Subtlety is their specialty I suppose.

I guess now's the time I talked about Midnight and how she came back. I already told the backstory in the previous post, so I'll skip to the point. After the events of "Paper Mario: TTYD", it took my sister a few more years to finally wake up from her "coma". At first she said she was confused at what happened, and why she didn't see the outside from the window(if you recall, the Palace of Shadow is underground). When Midnight tried to get up from her bed, she wasn't very steady on her feet and kept stumbling around her room(kinda funny since that is totally not like her!). Eventually though she found her footing, but she was still confused on what was going on. She grabbed an old cloak from what was left in her wardrobe, put it on, and decided to walk around the Palace. Poor thing was in for a nasty surprise, the Palace was nothing like she remembered it! She didn't like how it looked AT ALL. As she walked through the palace, she stumbled onto some archaeologists who were doing research and just about scared the living daylights out of them! They legit thought she was a ghost or something! She calmed them down and asked them questions on what era it was and where they came from. After they all stopped geeking out one of them answered her and said that they came The Mushroom Kingdom to Rogueport to investigate the old palace. Midnight was very shocked to hear all of that, as neither of those places existed back in her day.

Then she started to ask them about me and if they knew where "Aurora" was. At that time, I was still living with the Bros. and wasn't doing too much to make myself known, so it was basically a mystery. On second thought, I was actually getting to the point of remembering my past as Aurora Delfinia and recovering my lost powers, and had met Rosalina and got my wand from her(I was 12-13ish). Eventually Midnight decided that she needed to find me, and wanted to leave the Palace of Shadow behind. She convinced the researchers to escort her to the front door and up to the surface so she could get going. Of course there's an immediate problem, she had no clue on how to get to where she needed to be. The researchers pointed her to buying a ticket for the boats to ferry her to the next port town, where she could then hop onto another one to The Mushroom Kingdom. Unfortunately she didn't have a single coin to her name, so one of the researchers was kind enough to give her some money to get her started.

Long-story short, she got the boat ticket and hitched a ride on the ferry set for The Mushroom Kingdom. That one boat ride by itself was going to take awhile, but just her luck a storm came and the boat had gotten damaged from being tossed around, so they had to dock in a different town until it blew over. The repairs were going to take longer than Midnight wanted to wait for, so she had to come up with a different way of getting to her destination. Luckily the port town she stopped in was a nice one that had some shops to look through. That's when she realized that she was in desperate need for new clothes, cuz' not only was her dress in tatters, she kept scaring people with the way she wore her cloak. Of course she didn't want to look like a hag when she found me, so she decided to look around the boutiques for ideas. She couldn't buy anything obviously, but she was able to use her magic to alter her dress to have it resemble one she saw in a window, complete with a cute pair of dark strawberry flats. So proud! She also turned her cloak into a sweater with a hoodie on it so she could still cover her head. After cleaning herself up she then had to ask around for directions and navigation advice on where to go.

That's essentially what she had been doing those couple of years. She would be off on her way on some vehicle, it broke down, she got stuck in a different place, stayed for a little bit or even did some side work to earn coins, a kind Samaritan helps her get going again, and rinse and repeat until she got to The Mushroom Kingdom. She practically had the devil's luck all the way there, the poor thing. She was everywhere except The Mushroom Kingdom! Oh, and I forgot to mention that somewhere along the way, she picked up the "Earth name" Serena so that she didn't have to use her full name, I think it suits her. She says that it was all worth it though, she got to see the world in her own way and how different the cultures had changed, must've been fun. By the time she got to The Mushroom Kingdom, I had already moved back to Isle Defino and became a Princess again several months prior, so she barely missed me there. Still she kept asking around town where I was, but nobody could answer her since was asking for "Aurora" not "Danielle Corona". Somehow one of the toads overheard her and knew who she was asking for and told to go see Peach at the castle. By then I had a fan club of toads that knew about my "secret identity", must've been one of them.

So Midnight did exactly that and was off to see Peach at the castle. She wasn't sure what to expect from Peach or how she would help, but Midnight figured it was worth a shot. She knocked on the doors, and at first Toad came and answered it. When Midnight asked for Peach, he led her into the foyer and had her wait. Then Peach herself came into the foyer to greet her as usual, but as Peach had a good look at Midnight, she saw the resemblance to me instantly. Peach asked Midnight if she had a sister at some point, which she nodded yes. That was all Peach needed to know, and she practically dragged Midnight by the hand into the living area, sat her down on a sofa and had Toad tend to her while she called the Bros. to tell them who she found. They tell me that they raced to the castle faster than an angry Wiggler! When they got there and saw Midnight they were speechless, like, silent protagonist speechless! That was basically how she met the three most important people in my life. After confirming again who Midnight was, Mario called me at the Palace and told me everything, and I couldn't believe what I heard! I didn't even bother with the Warp Pipe that time, PomPom and I used a portal to get to the castle.

PomPom and I arrived at the castle in no time at all and nearly broke down the doors going through them. Peach and the Bros. were waiting for me in the foyer and explained to me what was going on. I honestly didn't care what they had to say, I just wanted to see her for myself! They said which room she was in and I bolted straight there with PomPom in tow. When I walked into the room and saw my sister, I was in complete shock. I mean, if you were staring at the very reason you were born for, you'd be dumbfounded too! At first, neither of us didn't say anything to each other, but then Midnight started to walk closer to me. We looked each other over, then we made eye contact and that was when I broke down. For what seemed like an eternity we both just hugged each other tight and cried on the floor, although I was more of a blubbering mess while she was better at keeping her composure. Of course PomPom has never met a person in my life that she doesn't like besides Bowser and his cronies, so she imprinted onto my sister immediately. After our happy reunion and chatted with Peach and the Bros., I whisked Midnight back to Isle Delfino and introduced her to EVERYBODY. I managed to shock a lot of people, and to Midnight's luck Isle Delfino is stuffed to the brim with charismatic people, so they took to her quickly.

Aaaand here we are... whew! Well, I did like I promised, I introduced you to my one and only sister Midnight Aura, or Serena if you want to call her that, she'll go by either one at this point. Anyways I gotta jam, at the time I'm posting this I'll be waiting for Dominic to take me on *gulp* OUR FIRST DATE!! Aww geez! I don't care if he's my boyfriend now, I STILL GET NERVOUS AROUND HIM!! I swear I'm turning into Luigi, I am the little sister after all... Well wish me luck! I'll see you guys on the next post. Blog ya soon, and have a lovely Valentine's Day! <3
