Guess what DAY it is! The one day of the year where scaring someone in public is acceptable and everything is taken with a grain of salt! Alright! And you wouldn't believe the day that I had trying to contribute to the holiday. But first, a little bit of background. Supposedly, Mario and Luigi both LOVED April Fools Day ever since they were kids. And over the years their pranks have grown to be so elaborate and so well thought out that they are almost admirable. To the old classics like the whipped cream and feather trick, to ones they came up with themselves like how they stashed Bowser's go kart up a tree! Sometimes they will have a prank civil war between themselves or they will collaborate for a larger prank and target. Either way, I usually get stuck somewhere in the middle during the whole process. Needless to say I'm a little behind on the prank war, but I try my best. But they always manage to get me back afterwards. This year however I wanted to get them when they least expected it!
Earlier this afternoon the guys were in the living room sleeping, and I decided to take my chance! So I quietly went to the kitchen and grabbed the can of whipped cream from the fridge and a clean duster from the closet. I then tip-toed over to Mario, who was on the sofa, and got ready. I shook up the whipped cream and gingerly squirted some into Mario's open hand. I then began to gently wave the duster over his nose. Eventually I see him squint and his hand twitch. And for that one moment everything was perfect, but then it ended as soon as it started. Just as I think Mario was going to smack his face, I see his hand swing up over his head and slam my face full of whipped cream! It scared me so bad that I lost my balance and fell backwards on my butt! And as I'm trying to get the cream of my face I hear Mario laughing at me at my failed prank. I get the cream off and our eyes meet dead on and he said, "April Fools, amateur!" as I tried to stand up off the floor. And yeah, I was peeved that he got me, but I still had Luigi. I then shushed Mario and walked quietly over to Luigi who was on the recliner. But right as I was going to squirt the whipped cream into his hand, he quickly woke up and pulled out his own can and squirted me in the face! Once again I was sent backwards onto the floor in a sticky, creamy mess. The Bros. were laughing the hardest I ever heard them before! After what seemed like forever Luigi finally composed himself and said, "I'm sorry to say sweetheart. But from what we learned in the past, if it doesn't work once, it won't work twice!". Mario then playfully swiped some cream off my cheek with his finger and said, "Good choice on the whipped cream though. Usually people use shaving cream or toothpaste and it's not as fun." as he smugly eats the cream off his finger. Obviously I wasn't amused and the two helped me up to my feet. I then excused myself to go and wash off while the guys cleaned the cream off the floor.
So here I am, two rounds of showering later and I finally get the stickiness out of my hair. And some cream got onto my shirt so I'm camped up in my pajamas while my clothes are in the laundry. Obviously I did not win the prank war this year, but as Mario says the pranking spirit isn't exclusive to April 1st, so I might get another chance sometime later. Well, time to go. But not before I leave you with this glorious image of the whipped cream aftermath. And with that, I'll blog ya soon guys!
